SUPPORT GROUPS

Our support group meetings are held in a warm, welcoming and safe atmosphere. All meetings are offered free of charge. Meetings are open to all CCFA members and non-members who have Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Family and friends are welcome. One-on-one telephone support is also available. Child care is not usually provided.

"Buddy" Connection for Support
Looking to find support and comfort by talking to someone who knows the challenges of living with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis? Want to provide a helping hand to those in need of help - including family members of patients? Then join our "Buddy" Connection program! We'll match you up, based on your needs or your request to help others – answering questions, visiting someone in the hospital, or just being there to listen.

Volunteer

We welcome all interested people to help in the fight against IBD. For more information about our volunteer program, call us at (800) 241-0758 or email ncal@ccfa.org.  Your help is needed at the California Wine Classic, Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis, Team Challenge Crohn's & Colitis, the San Francisco & Sacramento Patient and Family Education Symposiums, the Physician Office Visitation Program and other administrative help. 


Physician Office Visitation Program
Making sure CCFA materials are available in physician offices.  Requires regular visits to approximately 3-4 physician offices.

General Clerical Work
Light office work, including stuffing envelopes and computer work, can be as needed or on a regular basis.

Education
Includes planning seminars, securing speakers for seminars and seminar publicity.

Special Events Committee
Help to plan and prepare for the variety of special events throughout the year.  Includes the California Wine Classic, Team Challenge Crohn's & Colitis, and Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis.
